Put simply, I have a true love for people, and so believe that wedding photography happens from the inside out. The most beneficial element in obtaining the very best wedding photos is being able to establish a ‘sincere connection’ to you as individuals. That happens throughout the day, and having a personality behind the lens helps! Even before the photographic process begins, I take many extra steps toward finding out your hidden artistic desires and acknowledging the comfort zone that will best represent your characteristics and individual style. Yes groom and groomsmen, that means you too!
Professional service
To me, wedding photography is a professional service, which requires strong technical skill as well as creativity. I maintain a workflow that is not contrived or unnatural; focusing in on moments where true feelings and emotions shine through, for that magical energy is the essence of portraiture. My business was founded on the belief that wedding photography should, above all, capture the spirit, evoke emotion, and stir the heart. You will find yourself engaged in conversation, as we remain well-aware of your best expressions, capturing them as one would read a story. Relaxed and fun my preferences include the use of mostly natural and available light, as I push the limits and break many standard rules to get ‘that shot’.
I happily work on cloudy, overcast days & rainy conditions. My photography is described as a mixture of classic and contemporary, fun with a touch of editorial flair! I don’t necessarily seek out the ‘classic smile’, the ‘perfectly centered image’ and the ‘perfect pose’. Personal approach I offer a highly personal service. Always available to chat to clients about their ideas and provide advice on locations and styles. All photographic packages are beautifully gift boxed, ribbon hand tied and wrapped. Known to always provide more than expected.
Specialised
I specialise in outdoor and vineyard weddings (but am not limited to these.) Years of experience allow me to understand the landscape and lighting needs as well as finding you the most beautiful and romantic spots for your location shoot, be it at a winery, lodge, resort or seaside setting. (Not forgetting plan B in case of rain!)
Highest quality
Queensberry Albums are an hierloom of lasting quality and craftsmanship, made in NZ. With the photos selected by you, a wide range of options for album covers and layout of pages is available. The album is designed in consultation with you, approved via an online book and delivered in approx 3 – 4 weeks. ‘Your wedding album will not go out of fashion because it is not a trend, but a valued personal item’.
